I have been studying about the simulation theory for quite a while and have my own theory on why I think that the simulation even exists and what is our purpose. I believe that the creators of this simulation themselves think that there world might be a simulation. They wanted to figure out ways to try to exit their simulation and discover the unknown. But they would require the minds of a lot of genius people to be able to figure out something that complex. So they created us ( the simulations ). I believe that there are many other simulations simultaneously running too ( eg parallel universes ) where the laws of nature are different and the past and the future are different, even people's fate is different. There are millions of these simulations which are evolving into genius people only so that 'they' (us) are able to figure out a way to exit the simulation we live in. If we are successful in being able to do that, maybe our simulators will use our methods to try and exit theirs. All living beings are just making way for the future human beings who will figure out something. That is why things in our world are in this order, with this defined past and future, hoping that our simulation will figure that out. And our purpose is to evolve into beings which can do that. Once it is done and we have figured it out, the simulations are shut down.


And maybe this simulation is running in like a fast forward mode so the simulators won't have to wait so long ( maybe they have super fast computers) and they experience less time passing but for us we experience time differently. Maybe this simulation will run only for a month on their time but will be billions of years in ours


Maybe when we dream we are just controlling ourselves who is in the other program while we sleep so that there is no time wasted at all and we are constantly working. Due to their being parallel universes (programs) that world is different from ours and that's why dreams feel weird and it is so hard to recall them
